The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) permission to arrest the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, in preparation for his arraignment on Thursday, April 18.
Justice Emeka Nwite issued the warrant on Wednesday afternoon at the behest of the EFCC, signaling a major legal step in the ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct involving Bello.
The Nations reported that EFCC operatives had earlier surrounded Bello’s residence, causing a stir in the area. However, they later withdrew following Ododo’s visit, possibly due to a court order restraining the commission from arresting, detaining, or prosecuting Bello.
