Premier League giants Arsenal have made contact over a potential move for in-demand Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they hope to sign him from Italian side Napoli.
The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in Europe during his three-and-a-half-year spell with Napoli, after scoring sixteen goals in one hundred and nineteen appearances across all competitions.
The Nigeria international, who is currently on Africa Cup of Nations duty, decided to commit his future to Napoli in December by signing a contract extension until June 2026.
However, amid reported interest from a host of top European clubs, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed last weekend that Osimhen would leave the club in the summer.
De Laurentiis stated that Osimhen was likely to join Real Madrid, PSG or a top English club, with Arsenal and Chelsea believed to be the main contenders from the Premier League for his signature.
