The Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has underscored the importance of prayers and peaceful coexistence among the populace for the advancement and prosperity of the state and the nation at large.
Governor Abdulrazaq delivered this message while addressing the congregation gathered at Saint Barnabas Cathedral, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, before the commencement of the Palm Sunday procession. He urged the people to embrace peace, love, and understanding as fundamental pillars for societal progress.
Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Religion Matters, Christian Affairs, Reverend Timothy Akangbe, Governor Abdulrazaq reassured the commitment of the government to meet the needs of the people.
He emphasized the government’s dedication to serving all citizens without discrimination or bias, urging continued support and prayers from the populace.
He further emphasized the importance of Christians emulating the qualities of Jesus Christ, particularly during this sacred period. The governor called on believers to embody principles of compassion, humility, and righteousness in their daily lives, contributing positively to societal harmony and development.
