President Bola Tinubu has affirmed that his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, has maintained a hands-off approach to the affairs of his administration since leaving office on May 29, 2023.
Tinubu made this statement on Tuesday during the public presentation of two books documenting his administration.
The books, titled “Reflections of a Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, 2015 – 2023” by Femi Adesina, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, and “Muhammadu Buhari: The Nigerian Legacy (2015 – 2023),” edited by Udu Yakubu, were presented at the event.
“We’ve partnered to make democracy flourish in Nigeria. President Muhammadu Buhari, thank you. Except when I call you to say how are you living, how are you in the farm, we don’t hear from you either to nominate or intrude the cabinet or complain about anything. Thank you for being who you are, a civic…,” he said.
President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the organizers for providing an opportunity to reunite with former President Buhari, emphasizing that Buhari has upheld the promise of remaining distant in his hometown, Daura, without interfering in the country’s affairs
As reported by RoyalTimes, he highlighted that Buhari has not nominated anyone for an appointment into his government and has refrained from intervening in the running of the country.
