In a blow to Real Madrid, star defender Dani Carvajal is set to miss a month of action due to a calf injury sustained during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Granada.
Carvajal, who has been in peak form this season with 17 appearances for Madrid, joins a growing list of sidelined players including Courtois, Militão, Tchouaméni, and others.
The right-back’s absence adds to the team’s injury concerns, but sources suggest a hopeful return for the Spanish Supercopa clash against Atlético Madrid on Jan. 10.
Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, expressed concern over the mounting injuries and echoed Carvajal’s recent criticism of the congested fixture list.
Despite these setbacks, Madrid currently tops LaLiga and has secured a spot in the Champions League round of 16.
