Following the hike in price of fuel across the nation which took effect after the inauguration speech of President Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, Residents of Kwara state have lamented over the high rates of transportation.
A civil social worker, Miss Oluwanifemi Adekanye who works at merit academy in ilorin while speaking with Royalfm correspondent Opeyemi Akeredolu expressed discomfort over the price of transportation, she stated that her transport fare has increased by 50 percent.
Also speaking, Mrs Juliana, a trader at Sabo oke community stated that the change in price of transportation will surely affect the price of goods adding that some of their suppliers are unable to supply goods due to the fuel crisis.
However, Mr Suleiman Lawal The chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers in Soludero area, said that the hike in price of transportation is not the fault of drivers but the price at which they buy fuel is very expensive.
