Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo will sign the 2017 Budget into law on Thursday by 9:00 A.M at the Presidential Villa. A source told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that Osinbajo today held a meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly where the date and time of the budget has been announced.
The National Assembly on Thursday, the eighteenth of May, passed the seven-point-four trillion naira 2017 Appropriation Bill over four months after it was submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to a joint session of the National Assembly.
However, the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari has raised a lot of questions as to who would sign the budget. Osinbajo doused the misconception when he told Nigerians that he would sign the document into law as Acting President.
