As the Super Eagles gear up for their quarterfinal clash against the Palancas Negras of Angola in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, reports from the team’s camp reveal that the players dedicated a significant portion of Monday’s training session to practicing penalty kicks and shooting.
The training took place at the Police College in Cocody, providing the players with an opportunity to refine their spot-kick skills and shooting techniques.
The coaching staff, led by head coach Jose Peseiro, strategically incorporated these drills into the training regimen in anticipation of potential scenarios that might unfold during the crucial quarterfinal game against Angola.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, however, was notably absent from the full training session due to an injury sustained in the Super Eagles’ Round of 16 victory over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. His absence raised concerns about his availability for the upcoming quarterfinal match.
