Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares says his country plans to place sanctions on ‘violent’ Israeli settlers during a meeting of European Union foreign ministers being held in Brussels.
Albares told reporters prior to the meeting that if there is no agreement, Spain will proceed individually with these sanctions against the violent settlers.
Last week, French authorities banned 28 Israeli settlers from entering the country, accusing them of attacking Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
This month, the US also imposed sanctions on a small number of Israeli settlers for attacking Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank, accusing them of undermining stability and security in Israel and the Palestinian territories.
