President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent killings of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State, expressing deep grief over what he described as “mindless and brutal bloodletting.” The Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola, tragically lost their lives on Monday.
In an official statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu pledged that the perpetrators of these heinous acts would not escape justice.
As reported by Dailytrust, He extended heartfelt condolences to the families and subjects of the slain traditional rulers, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the entire Ekiti State community, describing the incidents as deeply agonizing.
Meanwhile, in response to the escalating security situation, President Tinubu has issued a directive for the immediate rescue of pupils and teachers who were reportedly kidnapped around the Eporo-Ekiti area of the state.
The President assured Nigerians that efforts were underway to robustly fortify the nation’s security architecture for improved outcomes, emphasizing that the security of life and property remained the primary responsibility of the government.
