The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed concern over rumors circulating in the state regarding Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s alleged construction of private refineries abroad using Kwara taxpayers’ money.
The party considers these rumors to be unsettling and crucial to the interests of the people of Kwara.
The speculation gains traction due to Governor Abdulrazaq’s prolonged absence from the state, coupled with the absence of clear explanations regarding the N17 billion reportedly deposited in an unknown bank over three years ago.
The PDP emphasizes that addressing these rumors is vital for transparency and accountability in governance.
In response to the circulating rumors, the PDP calls on the Yakubu Danladi-led House of Assembly to summon Governor Abdulrazaq before the house.
The party seeks a thorough explanation from the Governor to clarify the situation and provide transparency to the citizens of Kwara.
The PDP underscores its commitment to good governance, transparency, equality, and fairness for all citizens.
The party pledges to monitor the developments surrounding these rumors closely and demands answers on behalf of the people of Kwara State. The call for clarification aims to prevent any potential setback to the development of the state.
Governor Abdulrazaq is urged to demonstrate courage by promptly addressing and providing immediate clarification on the growing rumors related to the alleged construction of private refineries in foreign countries.
The PDP emphasizes the importance of upholding the principles of transparency, accountability, and openness in governance for the benefit of the people of Kwara State.
“Meanwhile, our attention has been drawn to rumours making around the state that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is currently undertaking the construction of refineries in some overseas countries while sitting on Kwara Taxpayer’s money. As a Party, we consider this rumour as disturbing and highly fundamental to the interest of our people.”
“This rumour is being corroborated by the continued absence of Mr. Governor from the state and the fact that Mallam Abdulrazaq is yet to explain the good standing status of the N17 billion he fixed in an unknown bank over three years ago, hence, the rumour construction of private refineries by Governor Abdulrahman is already gaining traction not only in Kwara but even among our neighboring states.”
“As such, we call on the Yakubu Danladi-led House of Assembly to, in the interest of Kwara, summon Governor Abdulrahman before the house to promptly address these rumours and provide a clear and transparent explanation to the citizens.”
“Governor Abdulrahman must also summon the courage to provide immediate clarification and address the growing rumours circulating in and outside the state concerning his alleged construction of private refineries in foreign countries while in office as an executive Governor of Kwara state.”
“The PDP in Kwara State remains committed to ensuring good governance, transparency, equality, and fairness for all. We will continue to closely monitor the developments surrounding these contracts and demand answers on behalf of the people of Kwara State on issues capable of reversing development in our dear state.”
“To this end, we urge the Abdulrahman-led government to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and openness in governance.”
