The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has foiled an alleged attempt to kidnap some school children returning from school in Ilorin.
Speaking to journalists in Ilorin, the state Commandant, Umar Mohammed disclosed that a 37-year old suspect, Yusuf Ajala, was arrested in connection with the incident at Isale Asa, Opomalu area of Ilorin metropolis, at about 1 pm.
According to Mohammed, the suspect’s claim that he saw the victims on their way back from school and asked them to help him get dry fish was proved wrong by a discreet investigation.
Mohammed said that the investigation revealed that the suspect forcibly changed the direction of the children from their normal route home in an attempt to kidnap them.
In another development, operatives of the command, also apprehended a forty-year old Susan Oyewole Oyenike and forty-three year-old Anafi Isiaka for allegedly printing fake expiry dates on expired Vita Energy Drinks products and selling the same to unsuspecting consumers.
