Wasiu Alalade, a former Kwara United striker, has explained why he left the club at the end of the season. Alalade spent one season with the Harmony Boys before joining arch-rivals Shooting Stars ahead of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
According to him, football is beyond ethnicity, tribe, or religion, so he decided to leave Kwara United to adapt to new environments and overcome challenges.
However, he disclosed that he loves Kwara United immensely, and the feeling is mutual from the club’s fans and management despite his exit.
Furthermore, he described his stay at the club as memorable and interesting due to their achievement in the 2020/2021 NPFL season, where they narrowly missed the continental spot.
Finally, he revealed that the fans and management of Kwara United were supportive and understanding during his time in Kwara. The Kwara-born striker has scored two goals in five league games for Shooting Stars.
