The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, as public holidays to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Tribune reported the declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government. Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the fasting period during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement released on Sunday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim community to uphold and practice the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
Additionally, the Minister called on all Nigerians to foster unity and work towards achieving peace and oneness in the country. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a spirit of unity to enhance national development and harmony among all citizens.
