Following the allegations levelled against former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello over alleged eighty-point two billion naira fraud, the State House of Assembly has demanded that the tag ‘WANTED’ laced around the name and person of the former governor be immediately removed.
This was part of the resolutions of the House during plenary on Tuesday.
The lawmakers also called on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, to obey the rule of law and work within the ambit of law.
While absent for arraignment on Tuesday, a member of the ex-governor legal team, Mr Adeola Adedipe, SAN, told the court that his client would have made himself available for the proceedings, but was afraid that he would be arrested.
