What does a Clean environment mean to you? How do you ensure a clean environment? How do you maintain and sustain your environment after Clean-up?
These core questions are front and central for the Eleven-Eleven-Twelve Foundation while anticipating the #worldcleanupday2021.
The event which held on the 18th of September 2021 was a truly impactful and energetic one that spanned across major cities in Africa.
The event was one that witnessed a large turnout of environmental conscious individuals who are not only striving to nurture and promote their environment, but also actively advocating for and sensitising the general public on the need for a clean environment.
Our mantra for the #worldcleanupday2021 is to show people how it’s done with our actions rather than just speaking about it, and this is exactly what we did in Abuja, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Kaduna, Kwara, Lagos, Niger, Ondo and Oyo State within Nigeria and not to exclude prominent countries in Africa such as Kenya and Liberia.
The #worldcleanupday2021 was a successful one going by the immeasurable results visible on all the locations Post-Clean-up and with the sustainability plans already in the works to be put in place in the different Clean-up locations i.e Placing Waste drums in strategic positions, periodic evaluation and recruitment of community stakeholders to monitor specific locations, we believe that these steps will ensure that the Clean-up carried out in all these environments are maintained and well regulated.
