Due to the consistent heavy rain, residents of Agbabiaka-Atere, Ilorin South local government area of Kwara State have lamented the poor condition of the road leading to the community stating that it has affected their livelihood.
The Agbabiaka-Atere road links various communities, such as Ganmo, Amoyo, Ibudo-Efo, Onireke, Olopolo, Agah among others.
Speaking with Royal Times, a business owner who simply identified as Mummy Stephen, warned that businesses around the area are collapsing due to an inability to transport goods from the market.
In the same vein, the community chairman Alhaji Saka Ayinde, revealed that most vehicle users now abandon their vehicles at the roadside due to the erosion.
Ayinde noted that schools in Agbabiaka Atere now find it difficult to get teachers for their schools as students are also finding it difficult to attend their various schools.
The chairman however pleaded with the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration to come to their aid.
