Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has expressed excitement over the victory at the Supreme Court, saying that it will motivate his administration to do more to develop the state.
The apex court, earlier on Monday, had dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate in the governorship election, Titus Uba.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja after the judgment, Alia said the victory would spur him to give his best to the state, urging people across the state, regardless of their political affiliations, to unite and contribute to its development.
At the proceedings on Monday, John Okoro who led the five-member panel said the case should not have been brought before the court, prompting the counsel for the applicant, Sebastian Hon (SAN) to withdraw the appeal with no objections from all the respondents.
