The Northern Elders Forum has called on Nigerians to question presidential candidates on how they intend to tackle the country’s challenges if elected.
The Elders Forum made the submission through the spokesman of Forum, Baba Hakeem-Ahmed during a program on Channels Television and monitored by Royal FM News.
While the major contenders including Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) are vastly experienced, he said they should show Nigerians a roadmap to combat the country’s major issues.
He said the recent town hall meeting the group organized was to give the candidates a platform to tell the northern region and Nigerians what they have in store if elected in the 2023 poll.
What Northern Leaders As to say “you have to understand this that substantially the candidates that are running are people who have literally bought there way into becoming candidates whether we like it or not that is the fact and they have spent anywhere between 100 of millions to 100 of billions, the amount of money you have determines quilt of leadership or do we simply say if you have money you can become a country def precedency. should we worry we shouldn’t worry you can actually pill away money as much as it is possible to do and try and see if you can present to Nigerians more or less a clearer picture of the candidates”
