President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday held a closed door meeting with Zamafara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari over killings in the state.
The meeting was held inside the President’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It was reported that 36 miners were killed on Tuesday after bandits invaded Bindin village in Zamfara State, while more than 40 others were said to have been injured.
Yari was in the President’s office for an hour after which he emerged with the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha
Although he did not grant press interview, the governor confirmed he met with the President on the issue.
“That (the killing) was what I discussed with the President,” the governor simply said and walked out of the Presidential Villa.
