Youths Call For Government Intervention over unemployment, Laments Lack Of Job Opportunities In Kwara

As the rate of unemployment among youths continue to increase across the country, the youth of Kwara State metropolis has expressed concern over lack of job opportunities in the state.

Recall that data extracted from the International Labour Organization which is an agency of the United Nations developing policies to set labour standards, estimated that youth unemployment rate in Nigeria has risen to about nineteen point six-one percent in 2021.

Speaking with our correspondent, Oluwadamilola Ayanwale, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University and Oluwatobi Adeleke described unemployment level among youth as alarming, noting that no new organizations are being established in order to get youths engaged.

However, a graduate of Ekiti State University, Emmanuel Arowolo, urged the Government to create an enabling environment, while a female graduate Mojisola, explained her ordeal in the labour market, saying major companies demand working experience from the youths.
