The Senate has ordered its Committee of Finance to probe the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the NPDC for failing to remit $3.47bn to the federation account.
This order followed a motion filed by Sen. Dino Melaye accusing both agencies of withholding $4bn public revenue from 2013 to date.
Melaye also said the NPDC had taken crude oil worth $1.8bn from their wells, but remitted only $100m.
Senate Ali Ndume also supported the motion stating that it should be thoroughly investigated.
