Unilorin pays last respect to late former VC Adeniyi

The late fourth Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Emeritus Adeoye Adeniyi has been described as a shining light in medicine in Nigeria following his contribution to health before his demise.

Speaking at the program of events of the two hundred and eighty-first special meeting of the Senate in honour of the late VC, some Senate members of the university acknowledged the roles played by Adeniyi towards the development of the institution.

Professor M.A Akanji, Alfred Adegoke amongst other staff of the institution in their tributes described Adeoye as  a lover of youths, saying the late VC also served the university for two decades without salary after retirement.

 

The current VC of the university, Professor Age Abdulkareem who said the legacy of the late VC cannot be forgotten. Late Adeniyi was the vice chancellor of university of Ilorin between  in 1985 to 1992.
