U-20 World Cup: NFF Thumbs Up Flying Eagles’ Display Against Dominican Republic

The Nigeria Football Federation has praised the Flying Eagles for their performance against Dominican Republic on Sunday.

The Flying Eagles started their campaign at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup on a winning note, edging out debutants Dominican Republic 2-1 at the Estadio Malvinas Mendoza.

Edison Azcona gave the North Americans the lead from the spot on 23 minutes before the Flying Eagles rallied to win the game courtesy of Guillermo de Pena’s own goal and Samson Lawal’s strike.

The NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi after the game expressed satisfaction with the result, but stated that the federation wants the team to win by a much higher margin.

He added that the next two games will be much tougher and expects the team to show sterner performance in both games.
