Flying Eagles head Coach Paul Aigbogun has submitted his final list of twenty-one players to the Nigeria Football Federation that he believes will do Nigeria proud at the 2019 Under-twenty AFCON in Niger Republic next month.
Nigeria battle host nation Niger Republic, South Africa, and Burundi in the eight-nation finals, with all four semi-finalists, guaranteed spots at the FIFA Under-twenty World Cup in Poland which holds from the twenty-third of May to the fifteenth of June.
Seven-time African champions Nigeria will clash with the Burundi Under-twenty side, Junior Itamba in their first match of the 2019 Under-twenty AFCON at the Stade General Seyni Kountche on Saturday next week. The kickoff is 7:30pm.
Same day, host nation Niger Republic will battle South Africa’s Amajita at the same venue in the tournament’s opening match, starting from 4.30pm. The Flying Eagles then play the Amajita on Tuesday, the fifth of February before rounding off the Under-twenty AFCON group phase with a battle against the host nation on Friday, 8th February.
