Terrorists reportedly attack Guards Brigade soldiers again

Scores of terrorists reportedly attacked soldiers of the Guards Brigade at the Zumu Rock, Madalla area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) again.

The attack is the second attack within 48 hours on the sit of power targeted at the elite brigade responsible for the safety of Presidential Villa, military formations and other critical national assets housing the top hierarchy of government.

It was gathered that the attack occurred a few minutes past 9pm on Thursday night at the 102 Guards Battalion along the Abuja/Kaduna expressway.

In an attempt to take over the barracks, the terrorists reportedly gunned down some of the soldiers on duty but were overpowered as reinforcement troops were drafted from closest police, military formations.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting between the Security Council and the president, the National Security Adviser Major General Babagana Monguno said the first attack on the Guards Brigade could have  be averted with  collective effort and dissemination of information.
