Some residents of Tanke community have called on security agencies in the state to intensify their patrol and intelligence gathering to forestall criminal and activities of cult gangs in the area.
The residents who made the call today while speaking with Royal FM news noted that if these activities are not nipped in the bud, it may spell doom for the entire community.
Lateef Oyebode, who narrated an incidence earlier today when residents of Oduduwa Street in Tanke apprehended a person suspected to be a thief in their compound called for proper alertness of other residents in Tanke Community.
Corroborating the incident, two other residents in the area, Salamat Abdulraheem and Alhaji Babatunde noted that valuables have been lost in recent times, following the activities thieves who cart away their belongings in the area at intervals.
The resident called on security agencies to intensify patrol in the area and Tanke community at large.
But in a chat with Royal FM, the apprehended suspect Sunday Togo who denied being a thief said he was only running for his dear life as people who he described as suspected cultist chased him in the earlier hours of today to kill him.
According to the suspect, he had sought refuge in the middle of the night with some other individuals to no avail until he found the compound where he was apprehended. He fingered a certain individual he referred to as “Chicken” to be keen on taking his life.
