SUSPECTED KILLERS OF NSCDC OFFICER ARRESTED IN EKITI

written by olarotimi September 14, 2022
SUSPECTED KILLERS OF NSCDC OFFICER ARRESTED IN EKITI

The chairman of the Ajoni local council development area in Ekiti, Micheal Ogungbemi, says four people suspected of killing an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) named Segun AYEBULU, and abducting his relatives have been arrested.

The chairman made the disclosure on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti noting that the suspects were arrested by the Ajoni community vigilante group, code-named ‘Operation Eradicate Bandits’.

The chairman said the vigilantes arrested the suspects while on patrol along the border between Ekiti and Kwara; adding that the suspects allegedly confessed to killing the NSCDC officer and kidnapping his family members.

Mr Ogungbemi said two AK-47 rifles were seized from the suspects, now detained at Ikole Ekiti police station.

It could be recalled that Mr. Ayebulu was shot dead by gunmen on the 3rd of September, along Oke-Ako-Irele-Ekiti road, while driving home to Kogi together with members of his family.
