Supreme court adjourns PDP crisis hearing

The Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of an appeal filed by National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff.

Sheriff who was declared authentic chairman of the party by a Federal High Court had filed an application against a suit filed by the Ahmed Makarfi-led faction, challenging the decision of the lower court.

Sheriff’s motion requested the Supreme court to disqualify the other faction from appealing the judgment of the Appeal Court.

The court heard the motion and asked the counsels to submit written arguments before the next date of hearing.

The case has been adjourned till May 25, 2017 for further hearing.
