Voting has ended at Osun Election with collation and counting in progress to know who is to take over the mantle of authority at the State of the Living spring.
According to reports gathered from several Polling Units of the state, voting started peacefully with heavy presence of security personnel as early as eight O’clock a.m today.
Official ward results showed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are in a tight race.
Though fifteen political parties participated in the election, the top contenders are the candidate of APC, Governor GBOYEGA OYETOLA and the candidate of the PDP, ADEMOLA ADELEKE.
It could be recalled that fifteen political parties are participating in the election, while one million nine hundred and fifty five thousand six hundred and fifty-seven (1,955,657) registered voters will decide the fate of the candidates.
As at the time of filing this report, sorting of ballots has ended and vote counting is underway in most polling stations of the 332 registration areas monitored across the 30 local government areas of the state.
