Sokoto state releases N751m for Ramadan feeding

The Sokoto state government has released N751 million for the Ramadan fast and forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr packages to orphans and other needy persons in the state.

The state Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Mani Maishinko Katami, made the disclosure during a chat with newsmen in Sokoto on Wednesday.

He said the packages, which were categorised into three, were aimed at assisting the beneficiaries to fast and celebrate the forthcoming sallah with relative ease.

He stated; “All these gestures are aimed at further alleviating the suffering of the beneficiaries, as well as make them have a sense of belonging during the forthcoming Sallah festivities,”.
