The Federal Road Safety Corps, Zone 5, has confirmed that about one hundred and forty-three lives were lost in various road traffic accidents across the zone between January and March.
The zonal commanding Officer in charge of Edo, Delta and Anambra, Mr Ayodele Kumapayi, said the figure represented a 28.80 percent increase compared with the one hundred and eleven lives lost in the same period in 2021.
Ayodele added that one thousand four hundred and fifty-six people were involved in the crashes within the period under review in 2022, while one thousand four hundred and seven were involved within the same period in 2021. known as “incubatees”, received training on Cocoa, Cassava, Fishery and Poultry.
