A House of Representatives Aspirant for Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Toba Oloyede, has called for accurate and adequate data of people in local communities as one of the measures to address the growing insecurity.
He observed that it would be an uphill task to identify strangers who have come to live with natives of local communities without taking cognizance of data of the real people of the communities.
Oloyede spoke in Ilorin at an interactive session with Journalists.
The Medical Doctor cum Information Technology Expert, said traditional rulers and chiefs are familiar with their people and it would be easy for them to single out the perpetrators of evil, who were never part of the communities in the beginning.
The House of Representatives Aspirant stressed the need to partner with village heads, local security outfits, police, civil defence in a way that would enable the use of data collected to stem the tide of emerging security challenges.
On his aspiration, Oloyede said if given the mandate his intention was to unite the four local government areas in his Federal Constituency to ensure equity and fairness so that no local government felt left out or cheated in the scheme of things.
