A total of 58 person in Kwara state have benefitted from the Zakat given by Pious Muslim Women International organisation .
Retirees ,unemployed , entrepreneur, individuals needing medical assistant , students and debtors who were cautiously interviewed and selected formed beneficiaries of the Zakat i n Ilorin, Kwara state capital .
Speaking at the event to mark event, the Managing Director of Welfare Microfinance Bank Mallam Tajuden saibu reminded Muslims on the importance of giving zakat as one of the tenets of Islam with its accompanied rewards.He noted that the Zakat given will be monitored for progress .
In her remarks ,a member of the organisation Dr Hamdalat Yusuf noted that about one hundred and fifty students currently benefits from the scholarship scheme of the organisation in Osun , Kwara and Oyo state adding that an orphanage home is under construction in Sentu to carter for children will needs.
Coordinator of the organisation in Kwara state Dr Mrs saudat Hamzat in her brief remarks congratulated the beneficiaries urging them to use the zakat for the sincere purpose.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with Royal Times appreciated the kind gesture extended to them by the Pious Muslim women organisation.
