Pro-Buhari protesters picket Amnesty International office

Pro-Buhari protesters picket Amnesty International office

Protesters who are supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari have staged a protest at the office of Amnesty International for the 5th consecutive day.

The protesters stormed the office located at 34, Colorado Close, Maitama, Abuja, today at 10am and were dismissed by 11am.

They accused the human rights group of supporting the opposition and presenting Nigeria in a bad light before the world instead of commending the government for fighting corruption and insecurity.

In an interview with the newsmen,AI’s Spokesman, Isa Sanusi, says that the protesters had a right to protest as long as they remain peaceful.

He denied allegations that AI was partisan even as he noted that the organisation was only fighting for the rights of Nigerians and respect for the rule of law.

AI recently condemned the proscription of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and the arrest of Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore.
