President Buhari will resume work immediately, says Femi Adesina

Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says President Buhari who returned from the UK over the weekend, will resume work immediately.

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV this morning, Adesina said President Buhari will today send a letter to the National Assembly informing them of his return to the country.

He said President Buhari doesn’t have to wait for members of the National Assembly who are currently on holiday to resume before the letter for his resumption can be activated.

Adesina said, “Later this morning, that letter will be transmitted and that letter is what signifies his coming back into office. It will be done today. They don’t have to read it or debate it, No. What the Constitution requires is for him to send it. Once it is sent he assumes office.”

“What Nigerians should hope for is that our president will remain whole. But if there is any reason to go out why not, you need to first stay alive before you can lead a country so whatever it takes for our president to remain healthy should be done but we want to hope and believe that the worst is over.”
