President Buhari expresses satisfaction with Ambode’s performance in the last four years as he commissions projects in Lagos

President Muhammadu Buhari has showered encomium on Lagos state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his outstanding performance in the past four years.

President Buhari expressed delight while commissioning a number of projects which he said reflects the drive and success of his administration. He noted that the policy thrust of his government is to pursue policies and programmes that will positively impact on the citizenry. Some of the projects commissioned include the remodeled Murtala Mohammed International Airport Road, the world class Oshodi Transport Interchange and the 820 high and medium capacity buses for public transportation.

President Buhari said these projects clearly demonstrate the need to continue to provide high impact projects for the development of infrastructure and opportunities for job creation at all levels. He added that the development is in sync with the efforts of the Federal Government to improve infrastructure especially in the transport sector.

President Buhari also seized the occasion to thank Lagosians for their support at the 2019 general election, recalling that it was his second working visit to Lagos in the last one year.

Governor Ambode, in his remarks, thanked President Buhari for his direct influence and support towards the projects which made it a reality.

Speaking on how the projects were funded, Ambode said his administration invested the some of the Paris Club refund, as well as the refund by the Federal Government on Federal road projects executed by states.

Ambode said he is fully optimistic that with the coming on board of the projects, the future prosperity of the state is secured.
