President Buhari asks supporters to ignore Saraki’s ‘crude speeches’

written by Esther faroye September 21, 2018

The Presidency has urged supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore attacks on him by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. Saraki recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and is running for the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to challenge President Buhari at the presidential election next year.

On Thursday on a campaign visit to Bayelsa, he said President Buhari and the APC lack the vision and capacity to develop Nigeria. In an apparent swift reaction, presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, in a state House press release urged groups supporting the president to ignore Saraki’s “Crude Speeches”.

Shehu wondered why the senate president has become so desperate that he had forgotten the encomiums he showered on the president before he left the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said Saraki’s comments have shown that he is very dangerous and can go any length to promote his personal interests.

Shehu however urged the supporters of President Buhari to always put their points in more decent language and display maturity instead of joining issue with the senate President.
