The Kaduna State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, on tuesday informed Governor Nasir El-Rufai to be prepare to imprison 5,000 pastors if the Religious Bill currently before the state House of Assembly is passed into law.
Kaduna PFN chairman, Prof. Femi Ehinmidu, criticised the bill being sponsored by the state government at a stakeholders’ roundtable conference in Kaduna.
Ehinmidu said the bill would ultimately lead to crisis in the state if the government and the state assembly go ahead with it.
The PFN said that pastors in its fold would rather obey God than obey the proposed preaching bill that seeks to regulate religious activities in Kaduna state.
He further stated that the bill was bound to fail, unless the government embarks on wider consultations among critical stakeholders.
