Police I.G commissions model police station in Ilorin

As part of efforts to ensure security in Kwara State, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba today commissioned the new model police station in Madi, Oke Foma in Ilorin West local Government area saying the project is meant to add value to the policing system in Kwara and Nigeria at large.

The Inspector General of Police who said the new model police station belongs to members of the public called on residents to support the police.

According to the IG, the police station is meant to serve humanity, provide security in the area, and called on stakeholders to support the improvement of the station.

In his address, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police Paul Odama who said no one has beaten the records of Alkali Baba in the area of promotion, welfare, provision of logistics, discipline, team work, e-policing and the digitalization of policing in the country, called for construction of more police stations to enhance security of life and property in the state.

While speaking at the event, the Kwara State governor Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq said the state will benefit a lot from the policy station. He said he will continue to advice all governors to support police with building of more station.

As reported by our correspondent, Olarotimi Oshin , the governor said more allocations will be made available for all security agencies in the next budget of the state. He also commended the inspector general of police and the police in the state and other security agencies for securing the state.
