Following the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idiris to all State commissioners of Police across the Country, the kwara State Commissioner of Police, Olusola Amore has today inaugurated EMINENT PERSON’S FORUM as part of efforts to ensure safety of lives and properties and to carry community leaders along in ensuring effective policing in the state.
Addressing a cross section of representatives of various community Leaders across the sixteen local Government of the state, Amore called on all community leaders to collaborate with police noting that local and conventional policing are needed to eradicate criminality and solving communal clashes.
Amore however charged police officers to leave up to expectations in the discharged of their duties and avoid any mischievous attitudes.
He also encouraged the people of the state report any officers who requests for bribe from them for proper disciplinary action, adding that present police under the new IG Ibrahim Idiris is ready to bring sanity to the police.
Amore also reaffirmed the commitment of the Inspector General police on community oriented piloting in order to reduce the high rate criminal activities.
The commissioner however promised to hold a security meeting with all the heads of various Higher Institutions in the state in order curb cultism in the state.
He commended the IG on the initiative the commissioner pointed out that the programme would go a long way in finding lasting solutions to mirage of insecurity bedeviling the Nation at large.
