Police Arraign Three Fake Prophets For Defrauding Woman

The police today arraigned three fake prophets who allegedly defraud an applicant of the sum one hundred thousand naira at a Magistrates’ Court in Asaba, Delta State.

The trio – John Ifeokochukwu twenty-five, Uchenna Obinna thirty-six and Ifeanyi Udenwoke thirty-one   were today arraigned on a one-count charge of fraud.
The prosecution counsel, Mrs Rachael Offor, told the court that defendants committed the offence on September forteen2019, at Prescott Hotel in Asaba.

Offor alleged that the defendants told the complainant, Miss Loveth Isibor, that they were prophets with powers to deliver her from any afflictions.

She said that the offence is punishable under sections of the constitution of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Volume, laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.

The Magistrate, Mrs Edith Anumodu, granted the defendants bail with the sum of one hundred thousand naira each with two sureties with the same amount.

Anumodu then, adjourned the case till October fifteen 2019.
