Plateau workers begin strike over non-payment of salaries
Plateau State workers have begun an indefinite strike to press home their demands following the state government’s failure to meet them.
The Joint Negotiating Council chapter of the state and the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress/Trade Union Congress announced the commencement of the strike in a notice jointly signed by Plateau Joint Negotiating Council Chairman, Titus Malau and Secretary, Timothy Gopep, on Wednesday night.
According to the union, the action was imperative since the government had reneged in fulfilling its own part of the agreement despite a series of promises.
