The irate mob had earlier collapsed the canopy on Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Rotimi Akeredolu, and former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola while trying to vent their anger on Idiat Babalola, who is a commissioner  nominee of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Babalola who was seated among the dignitaries including the younger brother of the deceased, Deji Adeleke, was chased out by the youths who alleged that the former governor was poisoned by some APC leaders.

The youths said Babalola was being touted to become the running mate of the anointed candidate of the APC  and that of Governor Rauf Aregbesola who was absent at the burial for obvious reasons.

When all plea turned to deaf ears, Amosun and his security aides had to escort the female commissioner out of the venue amid flying sticks and mangoe fruits being thrown at her at her.
