The coronation of the newly appointed Olomu of Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara, Oba Raheem Adeoti has been fixed for Saturday 22nd of September .
The date for the coronation was contained in a statement by Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA) signed by its President, Chief Bisi Adeyemi.
It will be recalled that Oba Raheem Adeoti’s nomination by the kingmaker’s as the next Olomu of Omu-Aran was recently approved by the State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed barely nine months after the demise of the last occupant of the throne, Oba Charles Ibitoye, who passed on November 30, 2017 after a brief illness.
The Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA) in a statement made available to newsmen said the Olomu-elect will arrive Omu-Aran from Ilorin on Saturday the 15th of September by 2pm to commence the mandatory seven days traditional seclusion prior to his coronation.
The statement also informed that the Olomu-elect will be received by the Olomu-in-council after the Kabiyesi’s entourage move through Aperan Road(Oja Ojomu), Olomu way ( Aganoru market) to Taiwo Road and Ijoko Royal Family House .
The coronation is due to take place at the Olomu’s palace while the official presentation of staff of office by the State Government will come up at a later date.
Meanwhile as part of the tradition for a new Olomu,the Olomu elect is to undergo a traditional seclusion in the house of Chief Jide Adebayo high Chief Eesa in the community who will in turn officially present him to the community.
Adebayo, in a separate remarks said all arrangements has been put in place toward achieving a successful seclusion rites heralding the historical coronation.
He enjoined sons and daughters of the community both home and in Diaspora including other well-wishers to come out in large numbers to give Oba Adeoti a befitting home coming.
