North Korea announces first death from Covid-19

North Korea has confirmed its first death from Covid-19, with state media adding that tens of thousands more are experiencing fever symptoms.

According to reports making round the country, six people died after suffering a fever with one testing positive for Omicron, adding that one hundred and eighty-seven thousand people with a fever are being isolated and treated.

Although the precise case number is not given, experts believe that there has been an outbreak of the Omicron variant in the capital, Pyongyang.
