The West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, kwara/kogi zone has warned against indiscriminate use of drugs, saying lot of children have been exposed to wrong usage of drug in Nigeria.
The Former Chairman, National Drug Distribution Committee, Dr Lolu Ojo who made the warnings while speaking with newsman in ilorin, explained that drugs are poison, and only confer benefits to the body when used in measured quantity for measured period of time.
He warned Nigerians to always use drugs for the purpose to which it is prescribed for rather than assumption usage noting that epidemiological survey previously carried out suggest existence of such societal problems.
While wondering why trainees or hospital technicians should be the ones dispensing drugs in hospital and not the Pharmacist, Dr Ojo appealed to the Federal Government to commence implementation of the drug distribution centres, slated for January 2019.
