Nigeria Military begins training of officials in Information Technology

In a bid to cushion the insecurity challenges in the country, the Nigeria Military has begun training of its officials in Information Technology to enhance their skill and knowledge against terrorism.

Speaking during the opening of the two-weeks training at the Nigeria Army College in Ilorin, Kwara State, the Provost of the College, Brigadier General A.P Oguntola appreciated the Information Technology Professionals Association ITPA for organizing the program.

In his statement, the provost disclosed the importance of the training, saying the knowledge of Information Technology gives proficiency to the students and personnel of the Military.

“We not only appreciate you for having a porogram of this nature. ICT is the way forward and no doubt gives prior attention to the profieciency of our personnel in that regard,” he concluded.

The provost stated that the Military College has selected both senior and junior officers, civilian staff, and others to participate in the program.

“We have few of our staff, including our civilian staff to participate in this program and we look forward to them make the best use of the opportunity. It is a rare opportunity and they are expected to make good use of the platform provided.”

In his remarks, the President of the Information Technology Professionals Association ITPA, revealed that the training is divided in three stages and appealed to prominent individuals in the society to support the association.

“ITPA does not have any former sponsor. The Association is inaugurated on the 30th of November, 2019 to serve as a National Body piloting the affairs of Information Technologist in the country.”

“We have proposed three courses during the training. The first is IT management, after that we treat Networking, and security policies. We selected all these courses knowing that they are genuine to their operational service.

However, the Head of Training, OluBukola Olubukayo asks for the cooperation of the participants to achieve the objective of the training.

“We need your cooperation, we need you to put in your best and we promise it’s going to be an expeirence of a life time you’ll always refer to, because what you are about to learn is something that people pay for, physically or online.”
