N’Golo Kante has signed a new contract at Chelsea that keeps him at Stamford Bridge until June 2023. The new deal, which represents a two-year extension, reportedly takes the twenty-seven-year-old’s wages to around two hundred and ninety thousand pounds-a-week making him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
Kante joined Chelsea from Leicester City for a fee of around thirty million pounds in the summer of 2016, having just played a pivotal role in their miraculous Premier League title triumph.
He won the league again in his first season at Stamford Bridge, becoming the first player since Eric Cantona to finish top of England’s top flight with two different clubs in consecutive seasons, and was voted the PFA Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year for 2017 in light of his performances.
