A Spanish newspaper Sport has claimed that Neymar is demanding that Paris Saint-Germain sell his team-mate, Edinson Cavani after their row against Lyon on Sunday.
It is reported that the Brazilian has made his feelings abundantly clear to the management of the club.
The paper report that, “Neymar has already communicated to Nasser Al-Khelaifi that his coexistence with Cavani is totally impossible and he has asked for the transfer of the Uruguayan striker.”
It could be recalled that Cavani was adamant he would take a penalty which he subsequently missed against Lyon but Neymar was visibly annoyed as his team-mate refused to cede his spot-kick duties.
The duo continued to lock horns after the final whistle and had to be separated by team-mates in the dressing room as the row continued.
And given that the club had paid £198m for Neymar, he feels he should be treated as the primary attacking weapon but Cavani has established himself as a fan favourite for Unai Emery’s side having spent four years with them, joining from Napoli in 2013.
The PSG owner will now have a decision to make as he attempts to smooth over the relationship between the world-record signing and one of his established stars.
